Here is a common-sense guide to being an active and positive member of the Mobcrush community. The Mobcrush team and moderators reserve the right to suspend any account at any time for activity that could be interpreted as inappropriate, harmful, or extremely annoying to the general community. We reserve the right to delete videos, stop live broadcasts, and suspend any account for any length of time that is not following our Community Guidelines.
Just be excellent to each other, k? Thx. Read on for the specifics:
Because if you have to ask “Is this cool to do on Mobcrush?” It...probably isn’t.
You must abide by all local, national, and international laws while using Mobcrush. Don’t break the law--and don’t encourage others to do so!
If your account’s been terminated, we had a good reason for it. Creating alternate accounts in an attempt to evade a ban will result in...those accounts getting banned. It’s a vicious cycle. Just don’t do it.
It might be ok to have a drink or two and relax while broadcasting a game (provided you’re old enough to do so!), but drinking excessively or engaging in any behavior that can be deemed self-destructive is prohibited. This also includes use of illegal drugs, suicidal threats, threats of self-harm, and actual self-harm.
Spam, Scams and Other Malicious Content
Spam is not just a (somewhat) tasty canned meat product--it’s also the annoying practice of sending messages repeatedly in the chat, repeatedly submitting user reports, or other frequent behavior with the intention to annoy or harass.
Listening to Phish is okay. Phishing (the attempt to get someone’s personal info) is not. Do not use your account to engage in malicious activity such as scamming, phishing, doxxing (revealing of someone else’s personal information), spreading misinformation, tampering, etc.
Pornography and Sexually Explicit Content
The streaming of pornographic content is prohibited. Sexually explicit content in-game is only acceptable if it is not the primary focus of the game, and you only spend as much time as you need to get through that specific area (like the cutscenes in Grand Theft Auto V). Games where sexual content it the sole focus or theme of the game are not permitted for broadcasting. As for you, dear broadcaster, nudity is strictly prohibited while broadcasting on Mobcrush.
Targeted Harassment, Threats, Hate Speech, and Violence Against Others
Threats, harassment, revealing personal information of others (doxxing), and other forms of directing harassment to an individual will not be tolerated.
Creation of an account used to impersonate a game developer, publisher, Mobcrush partner, or Mobcrush developer is prohibited. Just be yourself!
Not sure if someone is impersonating? Just look for the “Verified” or “Mobcrush Partner” tag next to their name. They’re legit.
Unauthorized Rebroadcasts and Other Copyright Violations
Unauthorized streaming of copyrighted content is prohibited on Mobcrush. Copyrighted content includes but is not limited to: other people’s streams, YouTube videos, Vine/Instagram videos, movies, television shows, video platforms such as Netflix/Hulu/etc., music videos, music performances of copyrighted works, streaming music.
“But hey! I bought it!”
Sure, but that doesn’t mean you (or we) have the right to distribute/play/perform that content to other viewers. Just keep it to games and lifestreaming!
Cheating and Hacking
Play fair! Respect the Terms of Service and Code of Conduct of everygame you play on Mobcrush. That means no cheating, exploiting, use of hacks, or other tampering of a game or stream in such a way to gain an unfair advantage.
Streaming Games that are in Closed Alpha/Beta or are Otherwise Embargoed
Please respect all game publisher and developer guidelines, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and release dates. Streaming a game without prior approval or before its release could subject you to stream takedown and further action taken on your account.
Lifestreaming is a category for non-gaming activities such as creative activities and vlogging. Some examples of approved activities under our Lifestreaming category are:
Drawing/painting/sculpting (whether digital or otherwise)
Hosting a gaming-related talk show
Playing a tabletop game
Live performances of original music (that *you* own the rights to--see our Copyright Notice)
